The first-ever Edinburgh Asian Film Festival (EAFF 2016) is a mini film fest featuring five films over three days from the London Asian Film Festival (LAFF 2016), Europe's longest-running Asian cinema event.
The festival opens with Yemeni drama "I Am Nojoom, Aged 10 and Divorced" about a young girl trying to escape an arranged marriage to an abusive husband. It was made by female filmmaker Khadija Al-Salami.
The screening will be preceded by an introduction from Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh, MP for Ochil and South Perthshire, and followed by a Q&A with Oxfam speaker Grace Ommer (former Country Director, Yemen).
Three of the other films are from Pakistan and the closing night film Aligarh is from India.
Several guest speakers from diverse organisations will engage in post-screening Q&A conversations with the audience.
