Description

Traditional community fireworks display, one of many Bonfire Night events, on Links Road, Port Seton at the former Cockenzie Power Station site.

In response to growing concern about fireworks safety and the impact of the explosions on pets and people with autism, the event's organisers, Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Council, have experimented with fireworks that are ‘partially quiet’. This means starting the show with quieter fireworks then building up to the loud bangs, with a big finale.

The fireworks display starts at 7.00pm on Sunday 3rd November 2019. The event may be cancelled due to bad weather (check Twitter feed for updates).

Viewing is on the grass between station fencing and the B1348. Organisers request people walk to the site, though car parking will be available at the old Cockenzie Power Station car park.

The Cockenzie and Port Seton 2019 Fireworks may be the last, organisers say, due to rising costs involved with holding the event. There will be a bucket collection at the event.
