About the venue
The Street of Light is a temporary installation that was erected as part of Edinburgh's Christmas celebrations from 2016 to 2018 on the west end of George Street.
Over 60,000 small lights, festooning its broad arches, are synchronised to music. It was the venue for a silent street dance party dubbed "Silent Light".
The Street of Light opened on Sunday 18 November at 3pm at Edinburgh's Light Night.
The Street of Light originally launched on the Royal Mile in 2015, then appeared at Edinburgh's Christmas 2016 on West George Street.
As part of Edinburgh's Christmas 2021, the George Street location hosted a temporary ice rink.
