Mature Blues Band Jam for Charity

Property professionals band together for inaugural

Edinburgh Property Jam for teenage cancer

Edinburgh fit out, housing and
maintenance company Morris & Spottiswood plans to show its got talent at
the inaugural Edinburgh Property Jam on 6 May in aid of the Teenage Cancer
Trust.

The company's group development director, Andrew Stirling
and his popular blues band Safehouse,
have been busy rehearsing after work at Morris & Spottiswood's offices in Gorgie Road in preparation for the big
fundraising gig which will see property and construction professionals from
across the region descend on the Jam House in Queen Street.

"The event is part of a big campaign to raise £500,000 this year
for Teenage Cancer Trust to build a specialist cancer care unit for 16-24 year
olds at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh," explains Andrew whose employer, Morris &
Spottiswood, is one of the sponsors of the event.  The long established, family-owned business is the
largest privately owned fitout company in Scotland and a major provider of housing and
maintenance.

"The
Trust is devoted to improving the lives of young people with cancer which, over
the past 30 years, has risen by more than 50 per cent", says Andrew. "Much of
the money it raises goes into providing these desperately needed teenage cancer
care units in NHS hospitals around the country."

As well
as providing state-of-the-art facilities to keep patients occupied during long
stays in hospitals, the units also provide a supportive environment where
teenagers can meet others in a similar situation.

"This is
a very worthwhile cause and we're hoping that the great and the good of Edinburgh's property scene will come out and
support it," says Andrew. "We've also got a great line-up of top-notch bands
who will be strutting their stuff on the night. They include Tam
White's Shoestring Band,
Dead
Sea
Souls and Latitude 56. It's going to be a fantastic night!"

According to the Teenage Cancer Trust, cancer is the most
common cause of non-accidental death in teens and young adults in the UK.

The Edinburgh Property Jam on Wednesday 6 May, runs from
6.30pm to 11pm at the Jam House, 5 Queen Street, Edinburgh. Tickets are £10.
