Alternatively, dinner in the Brasserie next door which specialises in modern Scottish cuisine: Limouson –Angus beef from the Tweed Valley, North Sea and West Coast seafood, regional cheeses. The kitchen also supports the local neighbourhood fishmonger and butcher, renowned for Game.
Ken and I dined on superb home-cured Trout, sweet Seared Scallops, an exceptional Cod dish (with bacon, peas and beurre rouge) and a tasty Wild Mushroom Ragout. Then a platter of cheese as we finished off our soft, velvety French Pinot Noir. Everything is home-made from bread rolls to ice-cream and the quality and freshness shine through with every mouthful.
Breakfast is also a gourmet experience here - coffee and croissants, Eggs Benedict, Full Scottish - traditional or vegetarian.
Sundays are popular at The Raeburn for a lazy, late Brunch or Roast lunch, so ensure you reserve a table well in advance. For a family party, leisure or business event, you can book the library bar & spacious private dining room.
