In 1926 Lady Haig established Lady Haig's Poppy Factory in Edinburgh's Canongate with two men and a pair of scissors.
A century on, the Poppy Factory operates as a supported business that only employs disabled ex-servicemen and women.
It manufactures all items for the Scottish Poppy Appeal and make and sell Remembrance Wreaths throughout the UK.
In Fringe 2023, the Poppy Factory was introduced as a venue for a comedy show featuring stand-up comedy by graduates of the RBL "Recovery through Comedy" programme.
The five-day programme teaches comedy techniques to improve self-confidence and well-being. With no previous experience, they were supported to create their own original comedy sets and take to the stage for the Recovery through Comedy Show.
