Slateford, Edinburgh

About the Area

The former village of Slateford is to the South West of Edinburgh City Centre, bordering Longstone.

You can walk along the narrow but popular Union Canal walkway/bike path crossing the towering aqueduct, which with its 8 arches remains an impressive engineering feat to this day.

Nearby is the 14-arch railway crossing which joins Slateford Railway station, on the Shotts line between Glagow Central and Edinburgh Waverley.
