About the Area
The former village of Slateford is to the South West of Edinburgh City Centre, bordering Longstone.
You can walk along the narrow but popular Union Canal walkway/bike path crossing the towering aqueduct, which with its 8 arches remains an impressive engineering feat to this day.
Nearby is the 14-arch railway crossing which joins Slateford Railway station, on the Shotts line between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley.
