'SHOE SWING'' happens every Wednesday night for easy & fun-to-learn dance lessons, followed by a couple of hours of 'social dancing', and that's where you'll enjoy the friendliest atmosphere for swing-dancers, Lindy-Hoppers, Balboa-boppers, Jivers, Blues dancers and music-lovers anywhere in Scotland - you'll love it!
Come along to The Counting House, 32a West Nicholson Street [above The Blind Poet / The Peartree pubs] - it's a really lovely venue with (joy-of-joys) a floor that's perfect for dancers!
NO NEED TO BOOK! Just turn up - you don't even have to bring a partner, as there's always plenty of people to dance with. And there's no 'dress code', although loose & comfortable clothing is recommended [some people like to 'dress-up', though!].
EVERYONE is welcome at this night which is dedicated to swing/balboa/lindy-hop/jive/blues dancing.
Easy-to-learn (and FUN!) tutored lessons/workshops are run each week from 7pm till 8pm for 'beginners', and from 8pm to 9pm for 'improvers'. followed by ''SOCIAL DANCING'' from 9pm with DJ LENNY LOVE [aka 'Dino Martini' from the swingin' & award-winning clubnight 'VEGAS!' (www.vegasscotland.co.uk), and also the producer & presenter of 'A Sunday Kind Of Love' on 98.8 Leith FM (www.leithfm.co.uk)] + each week, one of the dancers produces a 30 minute 'guest DJ set' of their own favourite dance tunes.
At 9:00pm, 'social dancing' starts! This is when you can practice new-found skills, strut-your-stuff and dance the night away, or simply sit back, chat with like-minded people, have a drink, snap your fingers and tap your toes while you enjoy the coolest, grooviest music on this swingin' green sphere.
TIMES: Tutored classes - 7pm till 8pm, and 8pm till 9pm. Social dancing - 9pm till 11:15pm

‘Shoe Swing’ is run by Edinbop - a non-profit organisation which hosts Shoe Swing in Edinburgh. Edinbop to provide regular (swing) dancing lessons in different styles and often hosts other opportunities to swing dance.
