RAMSAY’S BEST RESTAURANT CONTENDER TO COOK LIVE FOR EDINBURGH’S PUBLIC

Today it was announced that the head chef of La Garrigue, a contender of Channel 4’s “Ramsay’s Best Restaurant”, will celebrate his appearance on the show by cooking live in the Chefs Theatre at Foodies Christmas. Jean Michel Gauffre will be appearing at 5pm on Friday 3rd December at The Assembly Rooms.

Last night the nation watched chef proprietor Jean Michel impress Gordon Ramsay with his simple, classic French cuisine. Visitors to Foodies Christmas Festival will have the opportunity to watch him re-create the dishes he cooked for Gordon, while he passes on his expertise that led La Garrigue to be awarded ‘The Good Food Guide 2011’ ‘Readers Restaurant’ for Scotland.

Jean Michel will join 15 of Scotland’s favourite chefs, who will cook their signature dishes live in the Chefs Theatre, including Michelin-starred Tony Borthwick of The Plumed Horse, Jeff Bland of The Balmoral and Geoffrey Smeddle of The Peat Inn. Glasgow favourites Craig Dunn of ABode and Paul Tamburrini of One Devonshire Gardens, as well as Edinburgh’s Mary Contini of Valvona and Crolla and Mattia Camorani of Hotel Missoni, will be appearing in the Chefs Theatre, hosted by Jacqueline O’Donnell of The Sisters restaurants.

The Festival is a seasonal celebration of fine food, drink and festive culinary inspiration. Visitors can stock up on the finest festive ingredients; sample and buy speciality food and drink and decadent Christmas gifts; get advice on food and wine matching; learn cocktail mixing and canapé making; feast on festive dishes from favourite restaurants; and sip seasonal cocktails and mulled wine.
