NLS Film Club: Sport in Scotland

The NLS film club looks at various sporting activities in Scotland including Golf, Shinty, Football – in particular, a game of married vs single ladies - and various other sports. Enjoy a variety of films recording these sporting activities with both a professional and humorous eye, including Harry Lauder’s golfing spoof from 1917.

A Major Obsession

Kenny Reid has avidly followed golf’s majors for more than 30 years. In 2009 he decided to go one step further and embarked on a pilgrimage - a ‘fan slam’ to each of the four majors all in a single year. A Major Obsession chronicles this golf fan’s odyssey.
Inspirations at NLS – Mark Cousins

Film writer, director and the former director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Mark Cousins, has even helped to pull a mobile cinema around the highlands. What has inspired him to do all these things? Come and listen as Mark takes you through his varied, and sometimes surprising, influences.
