London’s internationally acclaimed Horse Meat Disco return for another headline set, on Friday 21st May, after helping to launch Trouble’s Devil Disco Club back in August last year and having taken their brand of classic disco half way round the world on the back of the success of their eponymous parties in London. Local Edinburgh live hot-shots RBRBR play live, bringing their energetic mix of synths, drum machines, guitars and DANCING NINJAS to the DDC stage.
HORSE MEAT DISCO
After 5 years of weekly Sunday nights, Horse Meat Disco has become an institution on both sides of the sexual divide. The brainchild of James Hillard and Jim Stanton, the idea was to create an alternative party that harped back to the halcyon days of dance music whilst at the same time adapting it for a London crowd and always looking to the future – a formula that proved successful from the start. Past guests include: Dimitri From Paris, Derrick Carter, James Murphy, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Tim Sweeney, Lady Miss Kier, Luke Unabomber, Maurice Fulton, Rub ‘n’ Tug, Cosmo, Daniel Wang, Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair), Honey Dijon, Greg Wilson, I-F, Loud-E, Steve Kotey, The Idjut Boys and Diesel. You may have caught Horse Meat Disco DJing previously at festivals such as Glastonbury, Lovebox, Bestival, The Big Chill or T In The Park.
“musically it’s a disco behemoth of classic, italo disco, oddities, punk funk” (HMD)

RBRBR
With a debut EP hot off the press (Euphonios) and THAT show supporting Metronomy last year, these newcomers currently look every bit like hot contenders for the crown of most exciting new band in Edinburgh and we’re predicting a very bright future indeed. Come find out why everyone in the Scottish capital thinks this band are so great and then forget what it was you came for as their live show leaves you laughing, dancing or singing along to their oddball tunes.
