Pet charity says thanks a million
From Stuart McMorrow, Senior Veterinary Surgeon,
Sir,
I am proud to inform local readers that veterinary charity PDSA celebrates 14 years service this month from our PetAid hospital in Hutchison Crossway, Edinburgh.
Over that time we have helped hundreds of thousands of beloved pets overcome sickness and injury, at a time when their owners are unable to afford vet bills.
As we celebrate another birthday, I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our supporters, whose generosity literally keeps PDSA running from one year to the next. Your donations, whether in cash, in pledges or through wills, make such a difference. We are also very grateful to our local volunteers and fundraisers, for devoting their time and skills for pets in need.
My colleagues at Edinburgh PetAid hospital see around 165 pets a day at peak times. We provide over 63,000 treatments every year for pets and the hospital costs around £795,000 a year to run. So it’s easy to see why we rely so much on generous local support.
To get involved with PDSA, or to find out more, you can call 0800 731 2502 or visit www.pdsa.org.uk.
Yours,
Stuart McMorrow
