At The Royal Highland Show
The Royal Highland Show will be welcoming three Royal
visitors later this month.
Her
Majesty The Queen, Patron of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of
Scotland, which this year celebrates its 225th anniversary, will
visit on the Friday of the show.
HRH The Princess Royal, who is a frequent
visitor to the event touring the showground last year, will accompany Her
Majesty.
The Queen's last official visit to the show at
the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, was in 1984, part of the bi-centenary
celebrations of the RHASS.
On Thursday, the show's Royal guest will be HRH
Princess Alexandra.
RHASS Chief Executive Ray Jones said: "We are
delighted to welcome The Queen as our Patron in our 225th year and
our other Royal visitors. The Royal family have been strong supporters of the
society and its activities over the years and we look forward to pointing out
some of the show highlights."
The Queen's father King George VI bestowed the
title "Royal" on the show at the Inverness
event in 1948.
The Royal Highland Show - major sponsor
The Royal Bank of Scotland - takes place on June 25-28.
