Edinburgh Man Wins National Licensed Retail Industry Training Award
Morris Lorimer
of Edinburgh based Lorimer Training has been announced as the overall
winner of this year's Professional Trainer of the Year category in the 2008 BII NITAs, the annual national training awards for the licensed retail industry.
Mr
Lorimer, who specialises in delivering imaginative training and
qualifications for the licensed trade and wider hospitality industry,
said: "This award is especially pleasing considering the size and
quality of our fellow competitors; and I'm absolutely delighted to have
won."
The Professional Trainer of the Year award is sponsored by Greene King. Judges
were highly impressed with this entry and Morris' clear and unequivocal
commitment to training and development in the licensed retail sector.
They noted that he had taken on board and benefited from the feedback
he received as a NITAs entrant last year.
BII director of
marketing Sue Medhurst said: "Winning a BII NITA is the ultimate
endorsement of training excellence and the impressive response to this
year's NITAs clearly shows the level of commitment to training
excellence as businesses see the benefits to both the company and the
individuals within it."
Mr Lorimer will now be presented
with his award, and receive the recognition he truly deserves, in front
of an audience of 1,000 top industry representatives at the BII Annual
Lunch at The Grosvenor House, London, in May.
