Packed with handmade crafts and bespoke gift ideas for Christmas, the West

great festive day out. Come along and treat yourself to some mulled wine
and mince pies as you enjoy the market.
In addition, there will be two fantastic shopping evenings on and
Thursday 27th November and Thursday 11th December from 5pm-8pm, with participating shops showcasing their latest
products and offering a whole host of extra yuletide treats. As well as the
street market and shopping evenings, there are a range of fantastic in-store
events special offers and incredible gift options that will keep you shopping

One such event is the Children's Christmas Hunt. On Thursday
11th December between 4pm and 8pm, children aged 5 to 11 years
old, accompanied by their parents, can take part in this exciting scavenger
hunt. Starting at Mel-Bell's and following the West End treasure map,
children will be able to find clues to help them complete the puzzle and win a
prize, with mulled wine and plenty of other treats to keep mum and dad happy
along the way too. Entry is £2, which will be donated to a children's
charity.
With free parking from 5.30pm on weekday evenings and on Saturday
afternoons from 1pm, it's the perfect opportunity to discover the range of
delights in the West End Village, which include friendly pubs, trendy bars and
eateries, boutique fashion and unique gift offerings in a great setting.
Says Michael Apter of the West End Association, "The
retailers in the West End are working together to create a magical shopping
experience where shoppers can really enjoy and soak up the spirit of Christmas
on the streets and in-store.
"Retailers need to work harder this year to
tempt shopper's in-store. We also want to communicate that the West
End is open for business and parking is free, so come along!"
Graham Birse, Chairman of
the Open For Business Group and Deputy Chief Executive of Edinburgh Chamber of
Commerce adds, "All the previous West End Markets have been a
great success with shoppers, and this promises to be no different. The area has
a deserved reputation for being home to some fantastic independent retailers,
and it's great to see them all working together to add even more quality
to the city's Christmas shopping experience."
West End retailers on Queensferry Road, Alva
Street, Stafford Street and William Street are opening until 8pm on Thursday 27th November and Thursday 11th December.
