*_Tuesday 18 November 2008___"Baja: whales to humming birds"_*_
By Dr Stan da Prato.
Baja California is the part of Mexico's Pacific coast that encloses the
Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez. It is one of the best places in the
world to see the great whales, other marine mamals, seabirds and marine
life. Onland the desert scenery is spectacular with impresive cacti and
some interesting small birds and reptiles. Dr Stan da Prato is a past
president of the SOC, editor of the journal Scottish Birds, chairman of
the Aberlady Bay LNR Advisory Committee. Tjis will be a fantastic chance
to see stuning images from this part of the world.
The talk will be held at 7.30pm at the Lindsay Stewart Lecture Theatre,
Napier University, Craiglochart, Edinburgh. Entry Fee of £2 includes
Tea/Coffee & Biscuits. Contact: Tel 0131 466 7163.
