LITTLE
BIG ROCK CANCELLED
DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER
LITTLE BIG ROCK, the two day
children's event due to take place on Edinburgh's Castle Street
this Sunday (19th) and Monday (20th) has been
cancelled due to predictions of severe weather.
The event was cancelled
today (17 October) by organisers Essential Edinburgh following a detailed
weather report for the weekend from the MET office and on the advice of the
events team.
A spokesperson for
Essential Edinburgh said: "It is disappointing to have to cancel
LITTLE BIG ROCK. The event has proved popular with families in the past and we
were all looking forward to this weekend. Unfortunately though the weather has
turned against us and, putting safety first, it meant it would have been unwise
to continue with the event. There is still a lot happening in the city this
weekend and in the lead up to Christmas to keep families entertained but we
apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
"Essential Edinburgh wants people to
have the best possible event experience at Little Big Rock, but the forecast
weather has raised concerns over the comfort of the children attending."
Some of the scheduled retailer events
will go on as planned:
- Hearts
Citystore, St James
Centre - 10% off - Gusto, 135 George Street
- Come and ‘make your own pizza', complete with chef's
hat: £5.95 including dessert! - Pizza
Hut, 15 Castle Street
- Introducing our new and exciting range of Tuscani pastas; 12 pasta dishes to
suit all individual tastes.
