As part of the Open For Business Campaign (letting people
know Edinburgh is still open for business during tram construction period) we
are hosting a "Month of Sundays" throughout September whereby every
Sunday there will be different things going on throughout Edinburgh that day.
This Sunday is Kids in the
City. Children will have the chance to get up close
and personal with some exotic beasties at The St James Centre, where Butterfly
Farm will be showing off a Royal Python, Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches, a
Chile Rose Tarantula, Giant African Millipedes, Spiny Sabah stick insects and
Thai stick insects. At St James Centre kids will be able to meet
characters from Edinburgh Dungeon (with 20 free family passes up for grabs),
free face painting between 12pm-3pm.
They'll
also be able to concoct shampoos, lip balms and potions with Neal's Yard
Remedies or the opportunity to become ‘little chefs' with pizza
making at Gusto Restaurant and cup cake decorating at Word of Mouth.
Harvey Nichols
will be handing out free lollies and chance to win £100 of kids clothing and
Jenners will have world famous Steiff bears available to buy as well as face
painting and drawing for kids along with popcorn and smoothie making in the
kids cookshop.
John Lewis will
have childrens musical group on from 1pm-2pm, cookie decorating from 12-3pm.
