Metro Ecosse and The List will be
screening their winning films of 2007 'One Minute Wonders'. The screening will
last approximately 15 minutes.

This year, three films have been selected
for the Metro Ecosse and List Short Film Competition 2008. The films will go
into production in July/August with a screening in September.

Lastly here are five
facts you need
to know;

1. At the start
of 2007, The List joined forces with Metro Ecosse to launch
One Minute Wonder, a national short film competition that gives Scotland's
writing talent the chance to see their script brought to life in film.
2. The
competition's aim was to discover fantastic new talent in the Scottish film
industry and highlight the great filmmaking facilities that Scotland has to
offer.
3. Five scripts
from over 100 entries were chosen to be made in to One Minute Wonders. They all
incorporate the 2007 theme, WILD!
4. After the Edinburgh International Film
Festival the One Minute Wonders will showcase at an array of European film
festivals. Nearly every great filmmaker began their career with a short film, we
may have given a first break to the next Alan Parker, Andrea Arnold or Peter
Greenaway.
5. In 2008 the competition has been developed, now
scriptwriters are asked for a one to three minute submission to the
Metro Ecosse and List Short Film Competition. The theme for 2008 is BIG!.
We received over 200 entries in 2008, double the number of 2007. Three films
have been selected, they go into production in July/August.

I hope Oscar at Metro and his judges are enforcing the 1 minute restriction this year. With last year's 1 Minute Wonders, the wonder part was that some of them went over the time limit which kind of defeated the purpose of the competition.
