Why does my post have extra line-breaks?

Why does my post have lots of extra line-breaks in it?

This happens when posting text copied from a Microsoft Word document. Word has lots of invisible code which shows up as extra line-breaks among other things. When posting from Word documents click on the Word icon ('W') or if posting from plain text use the ("T") Text icon.

1. Click on W icon so that a window pops up
2. Paste (Control V) placing the MS Word text into the pop-up window
3. Click "insert" button. The pop up window closes, adding your text to the post and you can add other formatting to it

This process essentially "cleans up" the text by stripping out extraneous tags. If posting text from a page that is on the web you should first choose the T icon to paste unformatted text.

Once you've added the text then you can add formatting.
