US artist William Wegman is bringing a selection of his famous Weimaraner portraits to Edinburgh's newly refurbished City Art Centre as part of this summer's Edinburgh Art Festival.
"William Wegman: Family Combinations" is devised especially for the City Art Centre and stars the New York-based photographer's family of charismatic dogs.
Featuring more than 60 works, the exhibition illustrates the family tree of Wegman's canine muse, Fay, along with her very photogenic offspring.
"Family Combinations" is William Wegman's first ever comprehensive solo show in Scotland and the only UK opportunity to catch this exhibition.
The show will consist of Polaroids, chromogenic, silver gelatin and digital prints, as well as a selection of humorous video clips - including the clips Wegman made for the hit US children's TV show, Sesame Street.
Born in Holyoke, Massachussetts, William Wegman first became known for his cutting-edge conceptual photography and video in the 1970s.
"William Wegman: Family Combinations" has been organised in collaboration with William Wegman Studio. It will be on display at the City Art Centre, Market Street from 31 July to 24 October 2010.
