Two U.S. television series will have their UK premieres this June, but it wont be on the small screen in your living room, but on cinema screens at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The EIFF are marrying cinema and television in a programming strand called Cinematic Television.
Ahead of its UK July transmission on FX, the EIFF will screen the first two episodes of US vampire drama True Blood, from creator Alan Ball (Six Feet Under) and five episodes from the first week of daily HBO drama In Treatment, starring Gabriel Byrne.
There will also be a panel event where audiences will get the chance to interact with industry professionals who are directly involved in the success of 'event' TV shows boasting production values at least as high as those of the average cinema release.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival takes place 17 - 28 June 2009.
Tickets go on sale at midday on Friday 8 May. The full EIFF programme will be announced on Wednesday 6 May.
