A video of some incredible bicycle stunts around Edinburgh has become one of the most viewed clips on YouTube today.

In Inspired Cycles (watch below), Edinburgh stunt cyclist Danny MacAskill hops, swivels, bounces and jumps over walls, fence railings, up tree trunks, and at one point across rooftops around the city.

MacAskill whirls past Edinburgh landmarks such as the National Gallery Complex, St. Giles Cathedral, St. James shopping centre, the steps to Waverley Station, and through the Meadows, dazzling with his tricks.

The short, filmed over the period of a few months in and around Edinburgh by Dave Sowerby, is billed as having "some of the most technically difficult and imaginative lines you will ever see." Who would disagree?

The 23-year-old is no stranger to YouTube fame. MacAskill's skills feature in a number of short films on the videosharing site, such as Next Level Street trails, released in September, and an earlier video which has had over 3,575,000 views since its release in 2006.
