Kendal Mountain Festival comes to Edinburgh

For the first time, Kendal Mountain Festival brings its Tour to Edinburgh with a night at Assembly Roxy on Wednesday 18th April 2018.

Kendal Mountain Festival is a world- famous Festival and the main UK gathering for outdoor enthusiasts, with over 20,000 people assembling each November to meet their heroes, be captivated by tales from the world’s top explorers, watch adventure films and share their own stories of exploration to some of the wildest places on earth.

For 2018, its tour events are taking the spirit and inspiration of the Festival to audiences throughout the UK with 16 events, each event will feature the best adventure films from its Festival alongside talks from two adventurers whose stories will inspire, motivate and educate us all.

The two speakers for the evening will be Jenny Tough, who is currently aiming to run, solo and unsupported, across a mountain range on every continent, and Greg Boswell, who is one of Scotland’s most experienced young climbers. Greg’s passion lies in Winter climbing and pushing his limits on hard Scottish Winter routes and who is famous for fighting off a grizzly bear and in 2016 Jenny ran 900km across Kyrgyzstan and last October she ran 860km across the Atlas Mountains, a wild experience of hostile landscapes and desert heat.
