Live Act of the Year 2015 Nominees, Nae Plans – top Scottish folk musicians Adam Sutherland and Hamish Napier – join forces once again to release another album of spontaneous music making.
Their second release (through Errogie Records) features ten live recordings taken from their 2014 tour of Scotland and is the perfect natural progression from the freshness of their 2013 studio offering.
The duo once again applies their daredevil philosophy of allowing no prior discussion of the music before they start playing. But this time round, instead of attempting this feat from the relative safety of a private recording studio, Adam and Hamish take it to the stage, the results of which are live recordings that are charming, heart-warming, sometimes hilarious, other times poignant, and all of course wonderfully spontaneous.
The result is a unique album showcasing music with a rare sense of urgency and purpose, with the exhilarating, touching musicianship of Hamish on piano, vocals and flute and Adam on fiddle.
Experience the spontaneity of a Nae Plans performance on their third Scottish tour, in venues from Edinburgh to Ullapool, ending in Glasgow with the official album launch and 'Nae Pl-annual' tour finale night featuring special guests!
The live appearances kick off tonight, 9.15pm at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, then the duo return on Tue 23 and Wed 24 Aug at 1pm for two more chances to catch them in the capital, before the tour continues to Plockton.
