Station Stories from Cryptic (in association with ScotRail)

All aboard for a magical virtual journey!

From the end of November to mid- December, 3 major Scottish railway stations will play host to a new immersive installation by acclaimed Brussels born, now Scottish based artist and Cryptic Associate, Sven Werner.

This immersive installation that evokes the magic of travel through the creation of miniature worlds is part of Homecoming Scotland 2014 and helps celebrate 20 years of high-quality, innovative work from art house, Cryptic. Travellers and visitors will find themselves transported to a series of handcrafted cinematic worlds from Werner. In a merge of the old and the new, Victorian inspired peepshows are brought to life by headphones. Audience members can embark on a journey in a gramophone-powered train carriage that whizzes through the countryside or huddle in a railway waiting-room looking out onto a snowy winter.
Sven will also be on-site throughout the installations dressed in vintage costume and supported by a team of Victorian assistants who could be characters from the miniature worlds themselves.
This sounds like a delightful pre-festive treat for the family - or railway enthusiast!
