When Netflix premiered political drama "House of Cards" on 1 February, 2013 it released the whole season of 13 episodes internationally on its streaming service. The series was heralded both as a critical success and, in its method of distribution, as a further sign of how much the television industry is changing.
With the complete House of Cards Season 2 just released on Valentine's Day it's a good opportunity to revisit the series' lead actor Kevin Spacey giving his 2013 MacTaggart Lecture at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, in which he talks from his personal perspective as an actor about the importance of nurturing new talent and taking risks.
