A new use for St Stephen’s?

Stockbridge Parish Church, originally St Bernard’s, in Saxe Coburg Street merged with St Stephen’s Church, in St Vincent Street at the bottom of Howe Street, in 1992.

Worship nowadays is at Stockbridge Parish Church whilst St Stephen’s is used as halls under the title St Stephen’s Centre.

Stockbridge Parish Church has decided it no longer wants the St Stephen’s building and with the agreement of the Presbytery of Edinburgh it has been handed over to the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland.

Its future will be considered at their meeting on 1st May 2012.
