About the Area
Situated six miles East of Edinburgh, Musselburgh is the largest town in East Lothian and possibly the oldest town in Scotland with roots going back to Roman times.
The town is famous for Musselburgh Racecourse and Musselburgh links, the former venue of the Open Championship. The town's population is 22,112 according to the 2001 census.
