About the Area
Lothian Road runs from the West End of Princes Street South to Tollcross. Edinburgh Castle rises up directly to its East.
The road itself is almost always full of heavy traffic, but once you get off the main road it improves massively.
There is a concentration of high-end arts venues here, including The Usher Hall, the Royal Lyceum, The Traverse Theatre, all nestled in the shadow of the castle, while The Filmhouse, the Odeon, and other cinemas can be found further upstream.
