About the Area
Juniper Green is a residential suburb to the South West of Edinburgh, between Currie and Colinton. It has been part of the City of Edinburgh since 1920.
A bicycle-pedestrian path runs along the old single-track Caledonian Railway line which was opened in 1874 and which provided a passenger railway service until 1943.
A pleasent leafy route that takes you to the Pentland foothills in neighbouring Balerno.
There are occasional vestiges of Juniper Green's industrial past, which included flax, grain, paper and snuff mills.
