Following the huge success of last year's first Taste of Spain Edinburgh, Valencian chefs will be back for this year's festival, cooking two giant paellas, free for everyone, on 18th and 19th July at The Mound (by the National Galleries of Scotland).
The chefs will start cooking at 1.30pm each day, with the paella ready to eat around 3pm, but visitors should arrive early to beat the queues! There will also be entertainment and the opportunity to win a paella kit and other prizes as they watch the chefs in action.
Cooked over wood fire in a pan with a two-metre diameter, each paella will be big enough to feed nearly 1000 people, with 60 kilos of chicken, 60 kilos of rice, 45 kilos of vegetables and 150 litres of water being used.
Visitors to the Taste of Spain Edinburgh Festival will also be able to taste other typical products from the Region of Valencia, such as the refreshing "horchata" (tiger nut drink) and learn more about the region's many attractions: its vibrant cities, sunny beaches, mountainous interior, boisterous fiestas and much more.
There is also a full programme of other events including Spanish music, competitions, and food and wine tasting at Taste of Spain festival.
