2 LOCAL COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONS HAVE BEEN BROADCASTING FOR 12 MONTHS

Diamond 107.8 FM, Midlothian’s Community Radio Station,
celebrates 12 months of successfully broadcasting everyday, without a break on
29th, March 2008.As has Leith's Community Radio, Leith 98.8FM
BDFM
and Leith FM which are both part of OFCOM's 133 community radio stations’ which have been established in the UK and both were awarded
an 5 year FM broadcast licence by OFCOM the Government’s broadcasting
regulator on the same day,both started broadcasting at the same time . Black Diamond was one of the first four new Community radio stations
in Scotland to start broadcasting as were LeithFM. Both stations currently broadcast 24 hours a day and seven days a week . More
than 15 hours live presenter output per day to a potential audience of 360,000
listeners across Midlothian and south Edinburgh, parts of East Lothian and surprisingly East Fife for Black Diamond. LeithFM covers the most of the North of Edinburgh and also the middle part of Fife. Both stations are on the world wide web LeithFM is www.leithfm.co.uk and Black Diamond is below. Both stations have been involved in setting up the Scottish Community Broadcasting Network which will cover all Community radio stations in Scotland.
