Walking up Lothian Road yesterday morning, there was an unusually large crowd of people milling around in Festival Square.
Turns out this was for auditions for the MySpace "user-led" movie Faintheart. People were lining up in front of a marquee where, one by one, they would then have their crack at stardom, performing to a camera.
Later in the afternoon, once the crowds had disappeared, I had a chat with one of the team from the movie who told me that the project is a feature-length drama about a group of friends who do viking re-enactments as a hobby.
Vertigo Films and Channel 4 are also apparently involved.
The feature is due to start principle photography in October and will be out next year.
I would have auditioned, but I didn't have my agent with me.
