If you see a bunch of people running around frantically with a video camera this weekend, it's probably filmmakers taking part in the 48 Hour Film Project. The international fast filmmaking competition, which is coming to Edinburgh for the first time, gets going this Friday at 7pm at Edinburgh's Cameo Cinema.
Each team draws a character, prop, line of dialogue and a genre from a hat and then they will have just 48 hours to make an original movie from scratch using these elements.
Prizes include Avid Media Composer, industry quality software for editing digital video, which normally retails for £1,822. Best Director will win a Glasgow Media Access Centre (GMAC)
Membership and discounted gear hire from Progressive Broadcast, and
Best Writer will win a Cameo Membership.
The finished films will screen 48 hours after completion at The Cameo on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21, both at 9pm.
