Edinburgh Fringe Venue
About the venue
Duddingston Kirk lies on the south-east slopes of Arthur's Seat. Part of the Church of Scotland, it is one of the oldest churches still in use in Scotland.
The church was founded in the 12th century by a Norman Knight on land given to him by King David I of Scotland.
The secluded Manse Garden lies next to the church, where the lower slopes of Arthur's Seat meet Duddingston Loch, and operates as a venue during the Fringe.
The kirk has three spaces available for rental:
The church hall seats about 120 (or 80 with tables), the McGregor Room seats 20, and the modern Millar Hall seats 60.
