Symposium Hall (aka the King Khalid Building) is a 19th century church building that has been transformed into a lecture theatre and events venue at the Royal College of Surgeons complex. During the Fringe in August it becomes "theSpace @ Symposium Hall".
The King Khalid Auditorium has a 158-seated auditorium with Italian leather seating, incorporating many of the original church features.
The auditorium has AV facilities (including for audience voting).
Background
Originally built, as Roxburgh Free Church, in 1847, the church was converted four decades later by architect John Kinross to become St Michael's Episcopal Church.
The building underwent repair with donations from Marks & Spencer and the Saudi Royal Family in the late Seventies and on 5 October 1982, it was handed over to the The Royal College of Surgeons as the King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Symposium Hall, with seating for 85.
Following a refurbishment in 2005, the raked lecture theatre provides seating for up to 158.
