First Footin' was new for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2023 and returns on the first day of 2024. First Footin’ is an afternoon of free live music and performance, held in 25 of Edinburgh’s landmark spots, pubs and other venues across the Old and New Towns.

First Footin’ audiences can explore the city enjoying Hogmanay traditions of friendship, food and drink along with live music from artists from Edinburgh and across Scotland.

Participating artists in the music and culture trail include Becky Sikasa, Bemz, Coth, Fergus McCreadie Trio, Grace and the Flat Boys, Graeme Stephen, Hannah Fisher Ceilidh Band, Her Picture, Hot Chip (DJ set), Juliette Lemoine & Chris Amer, Kathryn Joseph, Lau, Mira Benjamin, No Windows, Sean Shibe, Tam Dean Burn and more.

Participating venues include St Giles Cathedral, Greyfriars Kirk, Virgin Hotel, Fruitmarket Gallery, Assembly Rooms, St Andrew Square Spiegeltent, Scottish Café Bar & Restaurant, Cold Town House, Auld Hundred, The Black Bull, Boozy Cow, Copper Blossom, Element, and The Huxley.

Free & unticketed, on a first-come-first-served basis.
