Description

The first of two large-scale choral works will be Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Messa di Gloria’. An uncomplicated and unashamedly operatic work, clearly influenced by Puccini’s hero Giuseppe Verdi, it is packed with entertainment, life and colour, including a few surprising musical twists and turns, and rivals the very best melodies that the composer of ‘Nessun Dorma’ can offer.

The second choral work is Sir Arthur Sullivan’s ‘Festival Te Deum’, his setting of this familiar text, on a grand scale and full of Victorian splendour.

Enjoy this programme of choral music as well as the charming Cécile Chaminade Concertino for Flute performed by a senior school pupil.
