Crafty Addition to Edinburgh Fringe

This summer, Edinburgh’s renowned Royal Botanic Gardens will play host to the third edition of international craft and design fair, Handmade Edinburgh, a unique addition to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

An off shoot of the brain child of engineer-turned-designer Piyush Suri’s Handmade in Britain that was established over a decade ago to support and promote British designer-makers, Handmade Edinburgh celebrates the best in high-end design and craftsmanship.

Far enough from the madding crowd of the city centre Fringe, it is an opportunity to shop for textiles, jewellery, ceramics, wood and more in the delightful setting of Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens. There, over 80 British and international designer-makers will showcase their work inside an elegant purpose-build marquee in front of Inverleith House, where the delights of the beautiful botanical gardens can be enjoyed while discovering some of the world’s most talented craftspeople.

With makers available throughout the event, Handmade Edinburgh, offers the chance to unearth the stories, inspirations and processes behind the work, discuss bespoke commissions and see their latest collections up close.
