Lothian Road, Edinburgh

Lothian Road runs from the East End of Princes Street South East to Tollcross. Edinburgh Castle rises up directly to its East.

The road itself is not always a pretty one, almost always full of heavy traffic, but once you get off the main road it improves massively. There is a concentration of high-end arts venues here, including The Usher Hall, the Royal Lyceum, The Traverse Theatre, all nestled in the shadow of the castle, while The Filmhouse and the Odeon cinemas can be found further upstream.
