Description

Since the inaugural Lammermuir Festival in 2010, this annual festival of the arts brings together a fortnight of concerts, performed in the picturesque East Lothian region, outside of Edinburgh.

The Lammermuir Fesitval theme is 'Beautiful music in beautiful places' and the 10 days of concerts take place in some attractive and historic venues, such as Lennoxlove House, Gilmerton House and the great Medieval Church of St Mary in Haddington.

The festival takes place throughout the picturesque East Lothian region, less than an hour from Edinburgh, including a concert in the Brunton Theatre on Edinburgh's outskirts.

The programmes vary from traditional folk music to renaissance choral music, from string quartets to full symphonic works by the likes of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and Scotland's own the Dunedin Consort.

The Lammermuir Festival also includes talks, guided tours, and walks in East Lothian gardens.
