Description

The annual candlelit concert in St. Giles Cathedral forms part of the Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations.

St. Giles’ Cathedral Choir, directed by Michael Harris, with the St. Giles’ Camerata, leader Angus Ramsay, are joined by an array of young soloists.

This year’s concert celebrates Christmas and the New Year with the first and last cantatas from J.S.Bach’s Christmas Oratorio taking centre stage in the programme featuring Bach at his most exuberant.  The Baroque theme continues with Antonio Vivaldi’s sparkling setting of Dixit Dominus.
