Description

There's nothing like a whirling, birling ceilidh dance at Hogmanay to see in the new year. Ken Gourlay has been running ceilidhs at the Lauriston Hall for donkeys years, and not just at Hogmanay. Gourlay runs the ceilidhs throughout the year, so you can be sure of a smooth and rousing event, whatever your level of experience in traditional Scottish dancing.

If you hadn't stepped out onto a ceilidh dance floor before have no fear Ken Gourlay will be calling the steps while Willie Fraser ceilidh band will be providing the music. There will also be a piper.

Ken is organising two ceilidhs at Hogmanay. An early one for those who need to get to bed early or are looking for a warm-up to the Hogmanay Street Party on Princes Street or a later one for those who want to dance through the Bells.

Soft drinks £1, alcohol £3.

There are no clothing attire requirements apart from no stiletto or high heel shoes for obvious reasons.

Tickets

£20 for the early ceilidh dance

£30 for the late ceilidh dance
